Save the BIOS file to a bootable floppy disk. Write the BIOS filename on a piece of paper. 3. Copy the AFUDOS utility (afudos. exe) from the motherboard support DVD to the bootable floppy disk you created earlier. You can update a corrupted BIOS file using the motherboard support DVD , the floppy disk, or the USB flash disk that contains the updated BIOS file. · · Prepare the motherboard support DVD, the floppy disk or the USB flash disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility. Ensure that you rename the original or updated BIOS file in the floppy disk or the USB flash disk to M3N78VM. ROM. Recovering the BIOS from a floppy disk To recover the BIOS from a floppy disk: 1. Launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop by clicking Start > Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate > ASUSUpdate. The ASUS Update main window appears. Select Update BIOS from a file option from the drop-down menu, then click Next. 3. Follow the screen instructions to complete the update process. Use the BIOS Setup program when you are installing a motherboard, reconfiguring your system, or prompted to "Run Setup". This section explains how to configure your system using this utility. Even if you are not prompted to use the Setup program, you can change the configuration of your computer in the future. For example, you can enable the security password feature or change the power management settings. This requires you to reconfigure your system using the BIOS Setup program so that the computer can recognize these changes and record them in the CMOS RAM of the SPI chip. When you start up the computer, the system provides you with the opportunity to run this program. Press <Del> during the Power-On Self-Test (POST) to enter the Setup utility. If you wish to enter Setup after POST, reboot the system by doing any of the following procedures: · Restart using the OS standard shut-down procedure.
