Brother Numbers IMPORTANT For technical and operational assistance, you must call the country where you purchased the FAX/MFC. Calls must be made from within that country. Brother fax-back system (USA Only) Brother Customer Service has installed an easy-to-use fax-back system, so you can get instant answers to common technical questions and product information for all Brother products. You can use the system to send faxes to any fax machine, not just the one from which you are calling. Numbers 5­8 are accessed by holding down Shift while you press the appropriate One Touch key. (For USA Only) One-Touch key 1 has been pre-programmed for the Brother faxback system. One-Touch key 2 has been pre-programmed for the CallManage long distance plan. You can override them if you wish. 1 Press Menu/Set, 2, 3, 1. The LCD shows the location you selected. 1. ONE-TOUCH DIAL 2 Press the One Touch key where you want to store a number. If you want to enter a pause in the dialing sequence (for example, to wait for an "outside line"), press Redial/Pause as you're entering digits. Pressing Redial/Pause enters a 3. 5 second pause when the number is dialed. 4 Use the dial pad to then enter the name (up to 15 characters), and then press Menu/Set. AUTO DIAL NUMBERS AND DIALING OPTIONS 7-2 Setting Up Groups for Broadcasting Groups allow you to send the same fax message to many fax numbers by pressing only one One Touch key and Fax Start (FAX-2800) or five keys (Search/Speed Dial, #, the two-digit location, and Fax Start). You can store the Groups on your One Touch keys (FAX-2800) or Speed dial, and then broadcast by pressing only the One Touch key (FAX-2800) or Search/Speed Dial, #, the two-digit location, (and Fax Start). First, you'll need to store each fax number as a One Touch or Speed Dial number. You can have up to six Groups, or you can assign up to 107 numbers (FAX-2800) or 99 (MFC-4800) to one large Group.
