WARNING There are high voltage electrodes inside the MFC. Before you clean the MFC or clear a paper jam, make sure you have unplugged the power cord from the power outlet. These settings are temporary, and the MFC returns to its default settings 60 seconds after it finishes copying. If you want to reuse these temporary settings, you must start copying the next original on the scanner glass before the 60 seconds expire. MAKING COPIES 11 - 5 No. of Copies 1 2 3 Place the original face down on the scanner glass. --OR-- Press for more settings. Quality 1 2 3 4 Place the original face down on the scanner glass. Use FAST to save time (documents to be proof-read, large documents or many copies). BEST uses the highest resolution and slowest speed. NORMAL FAST BEST 11 - 6 MAKING COPIES Enlarge/Reduce You can select the following enlargement or reduction ratios. MANUAL allows you to enter a ratio from 25% to 400%. Press Copy Options 25% 50% 78% 94% and to select ENLARGE/REDUCE 100% 104% 150% 200% 400% MANUAL 1 2 3 4 Place the original face down on the scanner glass. Use the dial pad to enter an enlargement or reduction ratio from 25% to 400%. (For example, press 5 3 to enter 53%. ) Press Mono Copy or Colour Copy. Special Copy Options (2in1, 4in1 or Poster) are not available with Enlarge/Reduce. MAKING COPIES 11 - 7 Paper Type You can change the paper type only for the next copy. Select the type of media that you are using to get the best print quality. to select the type of paper you are using (PLAIN, 3 Press INKJET, GLOSSY or TRANSPARENCY). to select 4 If you selected GLOSSY, press GLOSSY:4-COLOUR or GLOSSY:3-COLOUR. The print quality of black ink depends on the type of glossy paper you are using. If the glossy paper you are using repels the black ink, select GLOSSY:3-COLOUR, which simulates black ink by combining the three ink colours. 5 Press Colour Copy (or Mono Copy). (See Setting the Paper Type on page 4-1. ) 11 - 8 MAKING COPIES Paper Size You can change the paper size setting only for the next copy. Brightness You can adjust the copy brightness to make copies darker or lighter. --OR-- Press for more settings.
