DIAL TONE DETECT If you selects <ON>, the machine transmits after confirming the dial tone. This function may not be supported depending on your country or area. RX SETTINGS ECM RX Enables/disables Error Correction Mode (ECM) during reception. FAX/TEL AUTO SW If you select <FAX/TEL AUTO SW> as the receive mode, customizes its settings. RING START TIME: TEL RING TIME: DEFAULT ACTION: Selects the time the machine takes to check whether a call is a fax or voice call. Selects whether the machine switches to receive mode after the ring time has elapsed, or whether it disconnects the call. DRPD:FAX RNG PAT If you select <DRPD> as the receive mode, select the ring pattern for the machine. This setting is only available in US and Canada. INCOMING RING If you select <FAX/TEL AUTO SW>, <DRPD> or <FAX ONLY MODE> as the receive mode, enables/disables ringing for fax calls (A telephone must be connected to your machine for ringing to occur). RING COUNT: If you select <ON> as <INCOMING RING>, selects the number of rings for fax calls. Chapter 7 Changing the Machine Settings 95 MAN/AUTO SWITCH If you select <MANUAL MODE> or <ANS. MACHINE MODE> as the receive mode, enables/disables the machine to switch to fax receive mode after ringing for a specified length of time. RX START TIME: Selects the length of time the machine rings before switching to fax receive mode. REMOTE RX Enables/disables remote receiving. If you select <ON>, selects the remote receiving ID. RX IMG REDUCTION Enables/disables automatic reduction of faxes to fit the paper loaded. DIRECTION: If you select <ON> as <RX IMG REDUCTION>, enables selecting the direction of the reduction. RX START SPEED Selects the speed at which the machine starts receiving. RX REPORT Enables/disables automatic printing of a reception report after receiving. If you select <PRINT ERROR ONLY> or <PRINT FOR EACH RX>, prints a reception report only when a print error occurred or every time you receive a fax. OTHERS AUDIBLE TONES Selects the volume. KEYPAD VOLUME Selects the beep volume when pressing the buttons on the Operation Panel. ALARM VOLUME Selects the alarm volume. PWR SAVE SETTING Specifies the time to switch the machine to the Power Saver mode. COUNTRY SELECT Selects the country where you are using your machine. This setting is not available in some countries and regions. LANGUAGE SETTING Selects the language for LCD messages. RESTORE DEFAULT You can change the settings back to the settings on your purchase (some data may not be reset depending on your usage condition). 96 Changing the Machine Settings Chapter 7 SAVE CONFIG Saves the settings for the Settings screen.
