LIQUID: Pretreat with a paste of granular detergent and water. Pretreat with prewash stain remover or nonflammable dry cleaning fluid. Wash using bleach safe for fabric.

Common Washing Problems
Many washing problems involve poor soil and stain removal, residues of lint and scum, and fabric damage. For satisfactory washing results, follow these suggestions provided by The Soap and Detergent Association.
PROBLEM
Blue stains
POSSIBLE CAUSES
·Undiluted liquid detergent or fabric softener dispensed directly onto fabric.
SOLUTIONS
·If caused by detergent, mix 1 cup (240 ml) white vinegar with 1 quart (. 95 L) water in a plastic container. ·Rewash with correct amount of detergent and hottest water safe for fabric. ·May be irreversible if rips, tears and seams cannot be mended.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
·Avoid pouring liquid deterent directly onto fabric. ·Avoid overfilling fabric softener compartment of dispenser.
Discoloration, graying
·Not enough detergent. ·Incorrect sorting.
·Sort items by soil level and color. ·Use correct amount of detergent, hottest water and bleach safe for fabric. ·Use correct amount of detergent and hottest water safe for fabric. See Washing Procedures for preparing and loading the wash load and adding chlorine bleach.
·Not enough detergent. Greasy, oily stains ·Undiluted liquid fabric softener poured directly on fabric.
Holes, tears, or snags
·Incorrect use of chlorine bleach. This is due to abrasion from normal wear.
Lint
·Reduce load size. Rewash using correct ·See Washing Procedures for sorting water temperature, water level, and and preparing the wash load. ·Add nonprecipitating water conditioner ·Use correct temperature and amount of to wash water to remove detergent detergent, water and wash time. ·When ironing, use spray starch or fabric finish on collars and cuffs. ·Increase water temperature using hottest water safe for fabric. ·Use liquid detergent or use nonprecipitating water conditioner with granular detergent.
Pilling (Fibers break off, ball up and cling to fabric. )
·Undissolved detergent. Residue or powder ·Some granular detergents can on dark items; combine with hard water stiff, minerals to form a residue. ·Incorrect wash cycle for wash load.
·Reduce load size. ·Rinse in cold water with liquid fabric softener using the permanent press or delicate cycle. [. . . ] Follow fabric care label instructions.
