[. . . ] Note If you set your phone's connection setting as "Memory Card", your computer recognizes you phone as a removable storage device. In this setting, you can manage your music using Windows Media Player or by viewing the "Removable Disk" icon contents under My Computer > Devices with Removable Storage. Please refer to "MANAGING YOUR PHONE USING THE MEMORY CARD SETTING" on page 13 for more information. [. . . ] When you connect your phone to the USB cable for the first time, you may see the following message. If you would like Windows Media Player to open automatically, select the "Always Perform the Selected Action" checkbox and click OK. Figure 1 3 Your phone will appear in the upper right hand corner of the Windows Media Player screen. 4 Note The ROKR Z6 will be used in the following procedures. Figure 2 Sync Tab Your Phone Current Music Files 4 Click the "Sync" tab within Windows Media Player and select a music category (located at the bottom left) to display the your phone's current music files. 5 ADD MUSIC TO YOUR PHONE You can easily add music to your device using Windows Media Player. 1 Select a music category under "Library" to display music currently on your computer. Drag and drop an entire album or individual music tracks from your library to the "Drag Items Here" area. Figure 3 Computer's Library Drag Items Here area 2 Album Tracks 6 3 Once you have made your selections, click Start Sync to transfer the files from your computer to your phone. Figure 4 Start Sync 4 A status screen will display showing the progress of the files being transferred from your computer to your phone. Note Click Stop Sync if you need to stop the synchronization process for any reason. Important Do not disconnect your phone during the synchronization process. Doing so may result in a loss of data or corrupt your memory card! 7 5 A disconnect message will display when the synchronization is completed. Figure 5 Disconnect Message DELETE MUSIC FROM YOUR PHONE You can also easily delete music from your device using Windows Media Player. 1 2 Select a music category under your phone. Right-click on individual tracks or the entire album and select "Delete". 8 MANAGING YOUR PHONE USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER AND THE MEMORY CARD SETTING You can store your music on your phone's Onboard Memory and Memory Card. Note Please refer to your phone's user guide for Onboard Memory and Memory Card capacity information. You can view the available memory on your phone's Onboard Memory and Memory Card by switching between "Next Device". This can be helpful if a file you previously synchronized from your computer to your phone is accidentally deleted from your computer. Note You can move files from your phone to your computer when the phone is in either "Media Synchronization" or "Memory Card" mode. 1 2 Change your phone connection setting to "Memory Card". Attach the Motorola Original USB cable to the mini-USB port on your phone and to an available USB port on your computer.
