S. [. . . ] Open a new message with the quick note in the Msg field. 97 Viewing the Status of Sent Text Messages Messages that you send are stored in the outbox. Find the Feature M > Messages > Outbox Messages in the outbox are sorted from newest to oldest. The following indicators show message status: á = sending in progress m = sending failed Y = sent n = read by recipient Tip: To re-send an undelivered message, highlight the message and then press M > Re-send. Your phone gives you the option to edit the destination or message before you re-send it. Messages--Text 98 Ring Styles Your phone rings or vibrates to notify you of an incoming call or other event. You can select one of five different ring styles: w = loud ring y = vibrate t = silent x = soft ring u = vibrate and ring The ring style indicator in the display shows the current ring style (see page 24). Ring Styles Selecting a Ring Style Find the Feature Press 1S 2 SELECT (+) M > Ring Styles > Style To scroll to the ring style select the ring style Customizing a Ring Style Change Style Settings You can change the alerts that notify you of the following events: incoming calls, text messages, voicemail 99 messages, data calls, fax calls, alarms, and reminders. Find the Feature M > Ring Styles > Style Detail Note: Style represents the current ring style. Press 1S 2 CHANGE (+) 3S 4 SELECT (+) To scroll to the event select the event scroll to the alert you want select the alert Ring Styles Activate and Deactivate Ringer IDs When ringer IDs are turned on, your phone uses distinctive ringer alerts to notify you of incoming calls or messages from specific entries stored in your phonebook. Press 1S 2 * or # 3 OK (+) To scroll to Ring Volume or Key Volume scroll to the desired volume confirm the new volume Using My Tones Ring Styles You can create and store custom alert tones on your phone. The tones appear in the list of available alerts. Create a Tone Find the Feature Press 1S 2 SELECT (+) 3 CHANGE (+) 4 keypad keys 5 OK (+) 6 CHANGE (+) 7 keypad keys M > Ring Styles > My Tones To scroll to [New Tone] select [New Tone] select Notes enter notes (see following section) store the notes select Name enter a name for the tone 101 Press 8 OK (+) 9 DONE (-) To store the name store the tone Enter Notes To create a new tone, use the keypad keys to enter notes. For each note, you must specify the octave (optional), pitch, length, and a length modifier (optional). Press a key multiple times to cycle through its available options and enter the necessary character as described in the following lists. Octave Ring Styles The default setting for a new tone is octave four.
