Do not connect the battery pack to any device not mentioned in this manual. ⷠDo not use any other types of batteries than those recommended in this manual. [. . . ] ⷠDo not use any other types of batteries than those recommended in this manual. ⷠDo not short the battery pack's power terminals with a metal object such as a necklace or keys. Shorting the power terminals could result in leakage, fire, explosion, or other damage to the batteries in the battery pack. Be sure to replace the battery pack contacts cover whenever the battery pack is not in use. ⷠWhen carring the battery holder removed from the MB-CP11 BATTERY PACK (SUPPORTS 8800), remove its batteries or install it in a case to avoid possible short-circuit caused by contacts with other metal objects. Remove the battery pack contacts cover (Figure 1battery pack is not in use. If you will not be using the battery pack for long periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. ⷠWhen replacing batteries, be sure to replace all six batteries at the same time and with new batteries of the same make and model. Failure to observe this precaution could result in fire, electric shock, or in the batteries rupturing. The battery pack is equipped with shutter-release and zoom buttons for taking vertical-orientaiton photographs. The shutter-release button on the battery pack is equipped with a locking mechanism. To use the battery pack shutterrelease button, rotate the locking ring to the · (on) position. The shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack cannot be used for turning the camera on and off. When the camera is in shooting mode, pressing (for wide angle) on the zoom button zooms the camera out, while pressing (for telephoto) zooms the camera in.
