Manual abstract: user guide POLTI AS 590

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] · Do not use electric extension leads that are not authorized by the manufacturer, as they may cause damage or fire. · If it is necessary to replace the power supply cable, please refer to the nearest Polti authorised service centre, since the use of a special tool is necessary. · Never touch the appliance with wet hands or feet with the cable plugged into the mains. · Do not use the appliance near a bathtub, shower or container full of water · Never immerse the appliance, the cable or the plugs in water or another liquid. [. . . ] The ON/OFF switch (7) can also be operated by touching it with your foot, so you do not have to bend. · It is possible to regulate the suction power through the slide control (9). Moving it to the right, the suction power increases, while moving to the left, the suction power decreases. We recommend minimum power for curtains, medium/low power for sofas, armchairs and cushions, medium/high for carpets and high for floors and hard surfaces (ceramics, marble, etc. ). EMPTYING AND CLEANING THE DUST COLLECTION C O N TA I N E R Switch off the cleaner by pressing the ON/OFF switch (7). Remove the hose from the appliance, by pressing the release button on the opening (D) while pulling it outwards. Lift out the dust collection container (1) using the handle (2) (fig. 2). Press the buttons (2a) at the base of the handle (2) so that the container opens and the dust collected inside it drops out (Fig. 3). WARNING: since pressing the button (2a) will cause the bottom of the container to open, we recommend doing this job over a waste bin. Take out the filter unit (15) and remove any residual of dirt (fig. 4). Turn the ultra-fine mesh filter (13) anticlockwise and remove it from the unit (fig. 5) Remove the HEPA filter (12) from the ultra-fine mesh filter (13). We recommend that you clean the filters every time you finish using the cleaner. · · · · · · · · · · · · · WARNING: do not use the cleaner unless the dust collection container (1) complete with the filter is fitted. · Place the dust collection container back in the cleaner by following the above instructions in reverse order. USING THE ACCESSORIES Accessories can be attached directly to the flexible hose/extension tube or to the telescopic tube (A). Using the telescopic tube (A) The tube is about 60 cm long when closed, about 1 m when extended to its greatest length. To increase or decrease length, press the locking (A1) and extend or reduce length as desired. Use of the extension tube (B) (model AS590) Extend the tube to its full length as follows: · Turn the handle to release the coupling ratchet on it as shown in figure 6. · Pull the handle outwards until the tube has the desired length (fig. 7) To return the tube to its original length, press the tube retraction button (B1) while the cleaner is running. When the tube has retracted, lock it once again by following the above instructions in reverse order. Using the universal brush (E) Connect the brush to the telescopic tube. If you move the selector on the brush (E1) and press with a foot, you can change the bristles position without bending down. The position with bristles extended is recommended for all non-carpeted floors. [. . . ] IF THE SAFETY DEVICE IS TRIGGERED The safety device may be triggered while you are using the cleaner if excessive quantities of dust and dirt are picked up and the filters (12) and (13) inside the container get clogged with dirt. To solve this potential problem, the cleaner has been fitted with a safety device. The cleaner will therefore automatically switch off and the safety device indicator light (18) will begin flashing. Proceed as follows to restart the cleaner: · Switch off the cleaner using the ON/OFF button (7) and unplug the power cable from the mains electricity supply. [. . . ]
