reducing temperature
16 Reducing the temperature takes a bit longer, as the element has to lose the heat it has built up, so be patient. It's best to organise your ironing so that you don't need to reduce the temperature ("preparation" page 3, point 2). 17 When you reduce the temperature setting, the display will also glow green and flash. It'll stop flashing, beep, and change to blue when it reaches the set temperature. 18 Wait till it changes to blue, then carry on ironing.
steam ironing
19 When steam ironing, you must set the temperature control at COTTON or higher (#3). 20 If you don't, you'll get water on your clothes, not steam. 22 Slide the steam control to the level you want (S = no steam, # = maximum). 27 You may initially have to press it 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system. 4
spray
shot of steam
28 Don't Use the shot of steam function at temperatures below COTTON on the display. 32 You may initially have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system. 33 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.
dry ironing
34 If you intend to dry iron for more than a few minutes, it's best to empty the reservoir first, to avoid spontaneous bursts of steam: a) Unplug the iron. d) Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into the sink/basin. 36 Wait till the display turns blue, then start ironing.
vertical steaming
37 Remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, hanging curtains, and furnishing fabrics. 38 Check that there's adequate ventilation behind the fabric, otherwise moisture may build up, causing mildew. 39 Check that there's nothing behind the fabric that may be damaged by the steam. 45 Press the H button (you're using the "shot of steam" function vertically). 46 You may have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system. 47 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.
after use
48 Unplug the iron. 51 Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into the sink/basin. [. . . ] To replace the plug, fit the green/yellow wire to E or E, the blue wire to N, and the brown wire to L. Don't use a non-rewireable plug unless the fuse cover is in place. If you remove the plug, dispose of it.
