reducing temperature
15 Reducing the temperature takes a bit longer, as the element has to lose the heat it has built up, so be patient. It's best to organise your ironing so that you don't need to reduce the temperature ("preparation" page 3, point 2).

16 When steam ironing, you must set the temperature control at ·· or higher (#3). 17 If you don't, you'll get water on your clothes, not steam. 19 Slide the steam control to the level you want (S = no steam, 6 = maximum). 24 You may initially have to press it 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system.

25 Don't try to use the shot of steam function at temperatures below ·· on the temperature control. 29 You may initially have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system. 30 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.
dry ironing
31 If you intend to dry iron for more than a few minutes, it's best to empty the reservoir first, to avoid spontaneous bursts of steam: a) Unplug the iron. d) Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into the sink/basin. 33 Wait till the thermostat light goes out, then start ironing.
vertical steaming
34 Remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, hanging curtains, and furnishing fabrics. 35 Check that there's adequate ventilation behind the fabric, otherwise moisture may build up, causing mildew. 4
36 Check that there's nothing behind the fabric that may be damaged by the steam. 42 Press the S button (you're using the "shot of steam" function vertically). 43 You may have to squeeze 2 or 3 times to pump water through the system. 44 Leave 4 seconds between shots, to let the temperature build up.
after use
45 Unplug the iron. 48 Carefully, turn the iron upside down, and empty the water into the sink/basin. 50 When it's cold, wipe off any moisture, and wind the cable round the heel. [. . . ] If it's not working, read the instructions, check the plug fuse and main fuse/circuit breaker. If that doesn't solve the problem ring Customer Service they may be able to offer technical advice. If they advise you to return the product to us, pack it carefully, include a note with your name, address, day phone number, and what's wrong.
