In many cases the IP addresses are defined as dynamic and so can change every time you log in to the network. For some applications however you have to make sure that the PCs always have the same IP address. If you opted for automatic assignment of IP addresses during installation, you can change this via the PC network configuration. Network configuration differs depending on the Windows operating system you are using. Private IP addresses You can determine your own private IP addresses for the PCs in your local network. To do this use addresses from an address block reserved for private use.
