[. . . ] It can constitute a suffocation hazard for children, especially the plastic bags. Important: hand over your appliance to the local agency authorised for the collection of electrical appliances no longer in use. Before disposing of your appliance it is important to remove doors and leave shelves in the same position as for use, to ensure that children cannot accidentally become trapped inside during play. It is also necessary to cut the connecting cable to the power supply network, removing it along with the plug. 34 Instructions for the user 4. DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTROLS 4. 1 Control zone All the hob controls are grouped together on the front panel. CONTROL ZONE 3-burner hob 4-burner hob 5-burner hob KNOB DESCRIPTION To light the flame, press the knob and, at the same time, turn it anti-clockwise to the minimum flame symbol . To adjust the flame, turn the knob to the zone between the maximum ( ) and minimum ( ) settings. position. To turn off the burner, turn the knob to the ARRANGEMENT OF BURNERS AND DESCRIPTION OF SYMBOLS Front left Burner Rear left Burner Front right Burner Rear right Burner Central Burner Central left Burner 35 Instructions for the user 5. USING THE HOB Make sure that the fastening plates E, the burners, the crowns and the pan stands are assembled correctly. The notches A of the flame-spreader crowns must be inserted into the housings B of the burner. The holes C in the burner should be slid over the igniters and thermocouples D on the hob. 5. 1 Positioning the pan stands The pan stands are provided unassembled on the hob. There are three types of pan stands you must be familiar with in order to position them correctly. 3-burner pan stand (3-burner hob only) Resting pan stand (4-burner hob only) Central pan stand (5-burner hob only) Support pan stand (4 and 5-burner hobs) 36 Instructions for the user To position each pan stand correctly on its burner, follow the instructions below: 3-burner hob 4-burner hob 5-burner hob At the ends of the legs of the pan stands there are silicone rests with a hole that must be centred onto the matching fixing pins on the surface. 37 Instructions for the user Position the support pan stand on the side burners, centring the fastening pins (1) and (2) and then resting it on the hob. Then position the central pan stand (5-burner model) or the resting pan stand (4-burner model) so that the dent rests on the supporting bar of the support pan stand as shown in the figure. Make sure that the pan stands are simply centred on their respective burners, without forcing the burners to be raised or tilted. If you find that a pan is particularly unstable, make sure that the pan stands have not been positioned incorrectly. 38 Instructions for the user 5. 2 Lighting the burners using a safety device The burner controlled by each knob is shown next to the knob (the example to the left corresponds to the front left burner). Simply press the knob and simultaneously turn it anticlockwise to the minimum flame symbol, until it lights. Hold down the knob for about 2 seconds to keep the flame lit and to activate the safety device. If this happens, repeat the procedure, holding the knob down for longer. If the burners should go out accidentally, after about 20 seconds a safety device will be tripped, cutting off the gas supply, even if the gas tap is open. In this case, turn the knob to the OFF position and wait at least 60 seconds before trying to light the burner again. 5. 3 Practical tips for using the burners For better burner performance and minimum gas consumption, pans with flat, even bases and with lids should be used, and their size should be in proportion to the burner (see “5. 2 Lighting the burners using a safety device”). During cooking, in order to avoid burns or damage to the counter top and to the glass lid (when present), all pans or griddles must be positioned within the cooking hob perimeter and a minimum distance of 3-4 cm must be maintained from the knobs. Make sure never to touch the lid glass with pots and pans that are still hot. 6. 2. 3 Stubborn encrustations If using the microfibre cloth is not enough, a brass wire sponge can be used together with stainless steel cream Crema inox or standard abrasive creams available in shops. To avoid encrustations which are difficult to remove, you are advised to clean the hob every time you finish cooking. 6. 3 Cleaning the components 6. 3. 1 Knobs The knobs should be cleaned with lukewarm water and washing up liquid. Do not use aggressive products containing alcohol or products for cleaning steel and glass when cleaning the knobs, as these products could cause permanent damage. [. . . ] Make sure that the supply pressure complies with the values indicated in the table in “9. 2 Burner and nozzle characteristics table”. 48 Instructions for the installer 9. ADAPTATION TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAS Before carrying out the following operations, disconnect the appliance from the power supply. The appliance is preset for natural gas G20 (2H) at a pressure of 20 mbar. If other types of gas are to be used, the nozzles must be replaced and the primary air must be adjusted. [. . . ]
