[. . . ] 4-462-381-11 (1) Location of Controls Unit (Top) Remote Operations Playing a CD/MP3 disc 1 Select the CD function. Press CD FUNCTION  on the remote or press FUNCTION  on the unit repeatedly.  Compatibility with all MP3 encoding/writing software, recording device, and recording media cannot be guaranteed. Incompatible MP3 discs may produce noise or interrupted audio or may not play at all. The number of folders that the system can recognize may be less than actual number of folders, depending on the folder structure. To tune in to a preset radio station If you registered a radio station to a preset number 1 to 6, the radio station will be tuned in by just pressing the TUNER MEMORY NUMBER (1 to 6)  when the system function is set to FM or AM. If you registered a radio station to a preset number 7 or higher, press TUNING MODE  repeatedly until “PRESET” appears then press +/  repeatedly to select the desired preset number. If the sound source is set to an FM/AM station for a timer, the system automatically turns on 15 seconds before the preset time. If the sound source is set to CD/USB, the system automatically turns on 30 seconds before the preset time. USB device Are you using a supported USB device?  If you connect an unsupported USB device, the following problems may occur. Check the information on the websites about compatible USB devices with URLs listed under “Playing a file of the USB device. ”  The USB device is not recognized  File or folder names are not displayed on this system  Playback is not possible  The sound skips  There is noise  A distorted sound is output  If you cannot fully charge the iPod/iPhone, charge it again after turning the Automatic Standby function off. Precautions Discs that this system CAN play  Audio CD  CD-R/CD-RW (audio data/MP3 files) Specifications Amplifier section Power output (rated): 4 watts + 4 watts (8 ohms at 1 kHz, 1% THD) Continuous RMS power output (reference): 5 watts + 5 watts (8 ohms at 1 kHz, 10% THD) Tuner Severe hum or noise, or stations cannot be received. (“TUNED” or “STEREO” flashes on the display. )  Connect the antenna properly.  Find a location and an orientation that provide good reception, and then set up the antenna again.  Keep the antennas away from the power cord to avoid picking up noise.  Turn off nearby electrical equipment. To use the system as a battery charger To check the setting You can use the system as a battery charger for USB devices that have a recharge function when the system is on. Turn off the system and reconnect the USB device. Several radio stations can be heard at the same time. There is noise, skipping, or distorted sound. Playing the iPod/iPhone 1 Connect the USB cable supplied with the iPod/ iPhone to the (USB) port  on the unit. Press DISPLAY  repeatedly when the system is on. Press   on the remote or press   on the unit.  emaining playing time of a track during playback r  otal remaining playing time t  If you select a USB device as a timer and have many files or folders on that device, it takes time for read processing, causing a slight delay before start of play in response to the timer.  If the sound source for a Play Timer is set to an FM/AM station tuned in using auto scanning or manual scanning, when you change the radio station after setting the Play Timer, radio station tuning for the Play Timer will also changed.  If the sound source for a Play Timer is set to an FM/AM station with a registered preset number, the radio station tuning for the Play Timer is fixed at what you set for it. Even if you change the radio station after setting the Play Timer, the radio station setting for the Play Timer will not change.  You are using an unsupported USB device.  Turn off the system and reconnect the USB device, then turn on the system. Send audio files with higher bit rate to the USB device.  Find a location and an orientation that provide good reception, and then set up the antenna again.  Bundle the antenna cables using commercially available cord clips, for example, and adjust the cable lengths. To reset the system to factory settings If the system still does not operate properly, reset the system to factory settings. Use buttons on the unit to reset the system to its factory default settings. 1 Disconnect and reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the system.  CD-ROM  CD-R/CD-RW other than those recorded in music CD format or MP3 format conforming to ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet  CD-R/CD-RW of poor recording quality, CD-R/CD‑RW that have scratches or are dirty, or CD‑R/CD-RW recorded with an incompatible recording device  CD-R/CD-RW which is finalized incorrectly  Discs containing files other than MPEG 1 Audio Layer3 (MP3) files  Discs of non-standard shape (for example, heart, square, star)  Discs that have adhesive tape, paper, or sticker attached to them  Rental or used discs with attached seals where the glue extends beyond the seal  Discs that have labels printed using ink that feels tacky when touched CD player section System: Compact disc and digital audio system Laser Diode Properties Emission Duration: Continuous Laser Output*: Less than 44. 6 µW * This output is the value measurement at a distance of 200 mm from the objective lens surface on the Optical Pick-up Block with 7 mm aperture. [. . . ]  WMA files in Windows Media Audio Lossless and Professional format cannot be played back.  USB device formatted with file systems other than FAT16 or FAT32 are unsupported. *  In case multiple partitions exist in USB device that is being used, files may not be played back.  Files with copyright protection (Digital Rights Management) cannot be played back by this system.  Heat buildup on the unit during operation is normal and is not cause for alarm.  Do not touch the cabinet if it has been used continuously at a high volume because the cabinet may have become hot.
