OV E R Battery Charging and Monitoring Getting Started with the Vexilar Ultra Pack The Battery Status Indicator monitors the level of charge in your battery. It can help you see how much running time is left and when your battery is fully charged. Negative Power Post Use the power posts to charge your battery and run 12 volt Positive Power Post accessories. The Master Power Switch turns everything ON and OFF. Your Vexilar Ultra Pack system comes with a high quality sealed lead acid battery. In order to insure maximum running time for your flasher and maximum battery life, you need to follow some simple charging rules. The charger is also protected internally from reverse hook up and short circuits. As long as you follow these instructions, you can expect many hours of use and many years of service from the battery. To Charge the Battery 1. Connect the red charger clip to the positive power post and the black clip to the negative power post. Do not leave the charger connected to the battery for more than 48 hours after the light has come on to full brightness. Tip - For faster charges with automatic shutoff, see your dealer about the optional V-300 1-Amp Automatic Charger. Bring the battery indoors and allow it to warm up for at least one hour before connecting the charger. Charge it every month or two to insure that it maintains a full charge during the storage period. Determining the Battery's Level of Charge The Battery Status Indicator attached to the battery compartment of your Ultra Pack is designed to allow you to see the level of charge in the battery while in use. The middle three lights indicate the approximate percentage of charge remaining.
