Washing itself is not the most demanding of jobs: there's the washing machine!But there's washing. . . and there's washing, and then of course the ironing, and putting everything away, not to mention the fact that day in, day out, our clothes are the target for an army of treacherous enemies: stains! [. . . ] 4. 1 3 2 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 CHILD SAFETY To protect the appliance from improper use, turn the plastic screw on the interior of the door using a coin or the thick rounded plastic projection on the coloured insert from the detergent dispenser: • Slot vertical: safety position, i. e. the door can be locked again. Home Appliances DETERGENTS AND ADDITIVES Filling the detergents and additives 1. When using liquid detergent, extract the coloured insert from the detergent dispenser and put it in the compartment. • Add fabric softeners and conditioners - no further than the “Max” mark (three chamber model “B”) or the“100 ml” mark (four chamber model “A”). • Fill chlorine bleach only to the “Max” mark (four chambers model “A”) • Stain remover • Water softener (water hardness class 4) • Starch (diluted in water). 3. Slide the detergent dispenser in until it clicks shut. A B Notes: • Keep detergents and additives in a dry place and out of reach of children. • If you use descaling agents, dyes or bleaches, make sure they are suitable for washing machine use. Descaler could contain components that can attack parts of your washing machine. Do not machine wash fabrics that have been treated with solvents or flammable liquids. • You can use liquid detergent in the “Prewash” phase for programmes with this option. In this case put only powder detergents in the compartment for the main wash . • When using concentrated fabric softeners, add water in the detergent dispenser up to “MAX” level mark. • To prevent dispensing problems when using highly concentrated powder and liquid detergents, use the special detergent ball or bag supplied with the detergent and place it inside the drum. WASHING PROGRAMME Selecting the programme: 1. 4. Depending on model the recommended temperature can be altered by pressing “+” or “-” button. 5. Select additional options, if desired, pressing the corresponding button. The indicator lights up. By a further pressing of the button this option can be turned off again. The indicator light will come on and the programme duration is shown on the display (if available). After starting the programme, the sequence indication runs from left to right through Wash, Rinse, Spin. When the sequence of the programme is finished the corresponding lamp goes out. Start delay (if available) Select the programme and temperature, any additional options and the spin speed. Pressing the “Start Delay” button the associated display comes on. Press the “Start Delay” button repeatedly until the desired number of hours is reached. If the maximum number of hours is reached for the delayed start, further pressing of the button starts the counter at zero again. [. . . ] The appliance can be connected without an anti-backpressure valve. A for models with Water Stop hose “B” If the flexible hose is damaged, unplug the appliance from the mains immediately. 2. Check water-tightness of tap and appliance connections by turning the tap completely on. If the hose is too short, replace it with a 3 m Water Stop hose (available from After-Sales Service or from your dealer). This operation must be carried out exclusively by a licensed electrician.
