[. . . ] With your new machine you can send and receive faxes, send and receive Text2Fax messages, as well as make copies. e machine prints on ordinary copier and typewriter and photocopier paper. With the time stamp you can verify the exact arrival time of a fax transmission at its destination location. With the additional print cartridges, you can print out up to 3, 000 pages. [. . . ] Pressing C will return you to the previous menu step; pressing STOP will return you to the root menu. Only after entering of the correct code will it be possible to access functions or enter numbers. You can cancel the keyboard lock by entering the code and selecting without under step 3. You can cancel the lock on the number pad by repeating this process and selecting Free under step 3. In MANUAL mode, you must manually start the fax reception when you receive a fax call. To get a count of pages printed: Press MENU/OK, 661 and OK (printed PG). To get a count of outgoing fax pages: Press MENU/OK, 662 and OK (sent PG). To get a count of incoming fax pages: Press MENU/OK, 663 and OK (received PG). In the Fax mode, the machine will ring for as many times as you have set with function 17. If you lift up the handset on an additional telephone that is connected to the EXT outlet, and you hear that you are receiving a fax call (whistling tone or silence), you can start the fax reception process by pressing *5, or by pressing START on the machine. You should set the device to this mode if you have additional devices connected to the EXT outlet of your machine, especially an external answering machine. If an additionally connected answering machine receives a call, your machine will check to determine whether or not the incoming call is a fax transmission. if the device recognizes a fax signal , it will automatically receive the fax transmission. If you do not have an answering machine connected or if a connected answering machine does not accept the call, the machine will take over the call after a predetermined number of rings and automatically receive any possible fax transmission being sent. If you lift up the handset on an additional telephone that is connected to the EXT outlet, and you hear that you are receiving a fax call (whistling tone or silence), you can start the fax reception process by pressing *5, or by pressing START on the machine. To use this function, additional telephones must be set to the tone dialing mode (DTMF tones) (see the chapter entitled Installation / Easylink). Enter the initial letters or select the entry you would like to change with [ or ]. You can store new entries, search for entries as well as set and edit groups. Your machine's memory will hold approximately 200 entries; the exact number depends on the length of the names and numbers. To enter symbols, press the CTRL key and the corresponding letter key simultaneously. When poor connection quality is known beforehand--with an overseas fax recipient, for example--you should select a slower speed in order to save time and telephone costs for the automatic adjustment. Enter the initial letters or select the entry you would like to delete with [ or ], then press OK. [. . . ] Copier, printer, digital press and fax products must meet energy efficiency and emissions criteria, and exhibit compatibility with recycled supplies.
