Overfilling the tray can cause the printer to jam. 7. Adjust the length and width guides to fit the paper. 8. Slide the tray back into the printer. 9. Push the tray in all the way. Notes: • • If the tray does not go in all the way, ensure that the paper lift plate at the back of the tray is locked down. If the control panel prompts you, on the screen, verify the paper size and type. At the printer control panel, verify that the displayed paper size matches the paper in the tray. If the displayed paper size does not match the paper in the tray, navigate to the correct paper size, then press OK. If the displayed paper type does not match the paper in the tray, navigate to the correct paper type, then press OK. To select a setting, press the Up or Down arrow buttons, then press OK. Configuring Tray Behavior When an individual tray is set to Display Popup mode, the control panel prompts you to verify or set the paper size and type. The Tray Priority feature determines the order in which the printer selects the tray for a print job when you have not specified one. Tray Priority also determines how the printer selects another tray when a paper tray runs out in the middle of a job. Tray Mode allows you to have the bypass tray mode determined at the control panel or the print driver. Navigate to On, then press OK. 60 Xerox Phaser 3610 Black and White Printer User Guide ® ® Paper and Media To set the priority for a tray: 1. To determine the order in which the printer selects the tray for a print job, navigate to Tray Priority, then press OK. To specify the first priority, use the Up or Down arrow buttons, then press OK. Navigate to the desired paper tray for the second priority, then press OK. To establish the priority for any remaining trays, repeat steps 4 and 5. Note: As each priority is assigned to a tray, the menu automatically advances to the next priority. When there are no trays left to prioritize, the menu returns to Tray Priority. Navigate to Panel Specified or Driver Specified, then press OK. This delay is the result of the system "waking up" from Power Saver mode and is typical of most imaging products on the market.
